Mike led a merry band of ten riders, on a cloudy evening that was perobably 17degC but felt cool, no doubt due to our incredibly sunny summer.
Up to the Bruntsfield links then left to the Grange, up Midmar Drive then into braidburn park, Firl#hill paths and along Redford Rd into Colinton. The Woodhall Rd ubder the bypass took us briefy onto Blinkbonnr Rd and the Pentlands, where we turned right down Kirkgate and up into Curriehill - a fine rough cinder path running past JK Rowling's horse carousel.
At this point the sun emerged, so we only had to thole about 90 minutes of cloud. Phew! From there we ran down Curriehill Rd and into Heriot-watt - not a thte usual smooth cycle batch, but an entrance further Notehr (and further downhill) to a road that they never seem able to finish. It makes for a quick simple ride throgh HW though. Exiting at the North end we crossed the A71 and onto the Canal.
After about a mile of canal we dropped down Cultins Rd into
Cloudy, felt cool, sun came out later
